Jane Tecca’s Great-Grandfather came to America from Norway in 1869, and homesteaded his South Dakota farm in 1873. He met his wife-to-be in America after she immigrated from Sweden. Jane’s parents still live in the house where she grew up with her brother and three sisters. The house is over 100 years old and in great shape.
Jane’s parents used farming practices we are promoting today as “green,” making things grow without the use of chemicals. Everything that could be done by hand was done by hand. Jane’s father installed a windmill with a gravity flow water system. Her mother ground home-grown wheat for baking. Trips to the grocery store were few and far between as the farm was self sufficient. Draft horses were used for most farm work and a good portion of the work was done by hand. Goats provided milk for butter, cream, ice cream etc. Beef and chicken were raised for natural meat and eggs; and there was a massive vegetable garden which produced enough food for the whole family, hired men, and anyone else who needed it.
Moving to Montana in 1989, Jane and her husband, Tony, found that living in a two-stop-light town was a great experience. Over the next 19 years many changes took place, altering the landscape considerably, to the present-day City of Livingston!
Jane has helped her husband in his construction work over the past 9 years, providing her with a deep understanding of that industry. This experience along with a true love of the land has helped Jane forge lasting and important relationships in the world of real estate.
Jane is a volunteer in the community, offering her time to raise funds for the schools her three children attend; and she participates in school district and political events. Her hobbies include enjoying the outdoors with her family - horseback riding, and hiking; and she frequently helps her ranching neighbors with seasonal ranch cores. She has performed twice at the Livingston Chamber fundraiser and also helped cater the event on another occasion. Jane is a former Polo Manager/player and her husband was a professional bull rider.
Jane became a real estate agent in 2005, and joined Montana Broker Properties in 2008.
